The Lampe Family Scholarship Celebrates Excellence And Expands Opportunity In Johnston County

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. – The Johnston County Education Foundation has announced the establishment of The Lampe Family Scholarship, a powerful new investment in the future of Johnston County’s highest-achieving students, who are attending any University of North Carolina Institution.

Created through a generous gift from Guy and Pamela Lampe, the Lampe Scholarship honors academic excellence and a commitment to lifelong learning. This prestigious award will recognize the top-ranked graduating senior, previously referred to as Valedictorian, from each of Johnston County Public Schools’ eight traditional high schools, as determined by class rank.

Unlike traditional scholarships, The Lampe Family Scholarship is non-competitive and available automatically to each eligible top ranked student, ensuring that the top-performing students across the district are recognized and supported when the scholarship is awarded.

Each Lampe Scholarship recipient will receive full tuition and required fees for up to eight semesters at any University of North Carolina System institution.

“This scholarship reflects a deep belief in the value of hard work, perseverance, and academic achievement,” said Amy Burton, Executive Director. “It will not only reward excellence, but also help open doors for Johnston County students as they pursue their future goals.”

By reducing financial barriers and celebrating outstanding achievement, The Lampe Family Scholarship creates lasting impact, empowering students and strengthening the Johnston County community for years to come.
