Vance County Tax Office Employee Charged With Embezzlement

HENDERSON, NC — A Vance County Tax Office employee has been arrested on felony embezzlement charges after a joint investigation by Vance County authorities and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).

The case began on Nov. 4, 2025, when the Vance County Sheriff’s Office requested SBI assistance following allegations that the employee had misappropriated tax funds.

Brianna Keele Anderson, 27, was charged with three felony counts of embezzlement of taxes by an officer. She appeared in court earlier this week and was released on a $105,000 secured bond.

SBI agents say the investigation is ongoing and have not released further details. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the case to come forward.
