Artists Of All Ages Recognized At Downtown Dunn Chalk Fest

DUNN, N.C. – Artists of all ages put their creativity on display in downtown Dunn on Saturday, October 3, as the Harnett County Arts Council held its 2026 Chalk Fest competition.

The event brought together young and adult artists who transformed 3-by-3-foot black chalkboards into colorful works of art using pastel chalk.

This year’s theme, “MAKE YOUR MARK, NC,” encouraged artistic expression while providing an opportunity for artists to showcase their talents and compete for awards.

Winners were recognized in three age divisions, with awards presented for Best in Show, Best Design and Best Use of Color. A People’s Choice Award was also presented.

Ages 6-12 Winners

Linden Ristuccia received the Best in Show award in the youngest age division.

Brielle Anfuso won Best Use of Color, while Keegan Williamson received the Best Design award.

Ages 13-17 Winners

Sarah Baker was named Best in Show in the 13-17 age division.

Lilly Branum and Willy Dotsey were recognized for Best Use of Color.

AJ Ruud received the Best Design award.

Adult Division Winners

Kimberly Lantham received the Best in Show award in the 18 and older division.

Dezarae Leto earned Best Use of Color, while Faith Dela Rosa was recognized for Best Design.

People’s Choice Award

Katelyn Lee received the People’s Choice Award, which was determined by donations and online voting tied to individual artists and their artwork.

The award recognizes the artist whose work generated the most financial support through the voting process.

Chalk Fest was held in the Dunn City Parking Lot at the corner of North Clinton Avenue and East Edgerton Street, behind Sherry’s Bakery.

The annual event is organized by the Harnett County Arts Council to encourage creativity and provide opportunities for artists of all ages and experience levels.

Organizers previously announced plans to explore a Chalk Fest calendar or coffee table art book featuring selected artwork from the competition, potentially giving participating artists additional exposure beyond the festival.
