The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two business break-ins reported hours apart.
Early Friday morning, the Shop N Go Gas at 13569 Highway 39 North was broken into. An undisclosed amount of cash and lottery tickets were stolen, along with $300 in cigarettes according to Detective Lt. Mike Carson. An ATM at the business was also damaged.
A short time later, a break-in was discovered at Martin’s Import Salvage at 3468 Wendell Road. A metal safe was damaged and cash and checks were stolen.
Authorities have not said if the two break-ins are connected.
At each business, entry was made by shattering a glass door.
