A black pickup truck and a black Mercedes collided Friday on Highway 42 East at Highway 96 North outside of Selma.
The driver of the pickup was cited by troopers with a stop sign violation. The Mercedes driver was transported to the hospital to be checked out.
According to a JoCoReport.com report, the intersection of Highway 42 and Highway 96 was the 28th most dangerous intersection in Johnston County in 2018.
The NC Department of Transportation is considering installing a roundabout at the intersection to reduce collisions.
