WILSON’S MILLS – A single vehicle accident caused traffic delays Tuesday morning on US Highway 70 near Wilson’s Mills. A westbound passenger car overturned just before 10:30am, near the intersection of Turnage Road.
Traffic was reduced to one westbound lane until the accident could be cleared. Wilson’s Mills Fire provided traffic control.
The driver was treated and released at the scene by Johnston County EMS. The State Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
This stretch of Hwy 70 has been a construction nightmare in both directions for months. Almost every week there is some type of horrible wreck. Not sure what the answer is at this point, but perhaps more traffic control, warning signs, and/or detours?
Wonder how many people have been injured or killed because of the many narrow and dangerous road construction barriers on most of the major highways in Wake, Johnston,Harnett and Cumberland counties that aren’t placed with EVERYONE’S safety in mind. The people building the roads now are no comparison to the people who used to do it. North Carolina roads are getting terrible and the new ones aren’t much better.
Is this the reason my cable bill is so expensive?
Ella..😁😄😆
Wonder how much speed contributes to the accidents too?? 60 mph people driving 70-75 mph…We all need to pay better attention , be very defensive in these areas.
That’s also a major issue. People drive like they are exempt from all of the driving laws.
Seriously Ella? That’s your take away from this? 🤬
