Clayton Goes Green In Celebration Of Earth Day

CLAYTON, N.C. – Get ready to roll up those sleeves and show some love to the planet.  Join the Town of Clayton in collaboration with Friends of Johnston County Parks for the annual Clayton Earth Day Clean-Up on Saturday, April 18.  This event, which is free and open to the public, is a great way to give back to the community, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with neighbors who share a passion for keeping Clayton beautiful.

The day kicks off between 8 – 11 a.m. in Horne Square, located at 323 East Main Street,  where volunteers can check in and grab everything that they need (trash bags; safety vests; grabbers; etc.) before heading out to assigned clean-up areas across Town.  Whether individuals join on their own or with a group of friends, family, or fellow members of a civic organization, there’s a spot for everyone to help make an impact.

Then, after all that hard work,  it’s time to celebrate.  Starting at 12 p.m., participants can gather at Deep River Brewing Company, at 700 West Main Street, Suite 102, to return supplies, enjoy refreshments, and stick around for a fun get-together. There will be raffle prizes, local nonprofits sharing valuable resources, and a chance for volunteers to connect and unwind after a productive morning.

  1. What a freaking joke! “Clayton goes green” more like Clayton has destroyed itself with over construction of cookie-cutter subdivision in which developers are allowed to clear-cut hundreds of acres TREES! But sure, they’re going green. Hypocrisy
