Clayton Police To “Pack A Police Car” With School Supplies

CLAYTON, N.C. — As students prepare to head back to the classroom, the Clayton Police Department is asking the community to help make sure every child starts the school year with the supplies they need.

The department’s annual Pack a Police Car school supply drive will take place Saturday, Aug. 15, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Clayton Walmart, 805 Town Centre Blvd.

Officers will collect donations of new school supplies that will be distributed to students attending Clayton-area elementary, middle and high schools.

Requested items include backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, markers, glue sticks, scissors, headphones, earbuds, binders, loose-leaf paper, tissues, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and other classroom essentials.

The event is free and open to the public, and donations of any of the requested school supplies are welcome.
