Four Days Of Johnston County Ghost Stories Begin Tuesday

JOHNSTON COUNTY – Johnston County Report will feature four local ghost tales this week as part of a special Halloween series beginning Tuesday.
One story will be published each day through Friday, featuring legends and folklore tied to different parts of Johnston County.
The series begins Tuesday at a downtown railroad crossing in a small Johnston County town.
The old local legends have been repeated and retold over the years.
Some may be familiar to longtime Johnston County residents. Others may be stories readers have never heard before.
The stories are being published as local folklore and Halloween ghost tales, not as verified accounts of actual events. While some locations, people and historical events referenced in the stories are real, the supernatural claims and other details contained in the legends have not been independently confirmed. As with many old ghost stories, some details may have changed through years of retelling.
So as Halloween approaches, check back each day for a different tale from Johnston County’s darker side.
Some involve places you may have driven past hundreds of times.
You may look at them a little differently after reading the stories.
Part 1 of Johnston County Ghost Stories will be published Tuesday at 12 noon.
