Historic Coats Museum Opens Doors For Independence Day Event

MCGEE’S CROSSROADS — Residents looking for a unique way to celebrate Independence Day are invited to step back in time during a Fourth of July celebration at one of the area’s historic landmarks.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, July 4, at the Coats Museum, Belltower and House, located at 3317 Old Fairground Road near Angier in the McGee’s Crossroads community.
Visitors will have an opportunity to tour the historic home and museum, learn about the area’s rich heritage and take part in the traditional ringing of the belltower bells.

Live music will be provided by Robin Vanessa Johnson, and hot dogs will be available for lunch.
Organizers say the celebration is designed to highlight the history of the McGee’s Crossroads community while giving families an opportunity to celebrate Independence Day in a relaxed, hometown setting.
The event is open to the public.
