Internet Cypertip Leads To Arrest Of Man For Sexual Exploitation

CLAYTON – A 35 year-old Johnston County man is facing multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Jacob Matthew Kennedy of Mohican Lane, Clayton, formerly of Raleigh, was arrested September 22 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s investigators said they began investigating Kennedy in August 2023 after receiving a cybertip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

During the investigation, Kennedy allegedly admitted to having child pornography on his cell phone.

Kennedy was charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was held under a $250,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Detention Center.
