Johnston County Bar Association Offering Free Legal Advice During “Ask A Lawyer Day”

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — Residents in need of legal guidance will have an opportunity to receive free consultations from local attorneys during Johnston County’s annual “Ask A Lawyer Day.”

The Johnston County Bar Association will host the event from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, May 29, in the atrium of the Johnston County Courthouse.

Volunteer attorneys from across the community will be available to provide free consultations for indigent residents with legal questions involving a wide range of topics, including family law, criminal law, bankruptcy, landlord-tenant disputes, guardianships, wills and estates, personal injury matters, and basic business or corporate issues.

“Our bar is passionate about serving those in need in our community,” said Keith Gordon, president of the Johnston County Bar Association. “Pro bono events like ‘Ask A Lawyer Day’ are just one way local attorneys give back to our neighbors. We encourage those in need to take advantage of this opportunity to get excellent legal advice free of charge.”

Organizers said the event is designed to connect residents who may not otherwise have access to legal services with experienced attorneys willing to answer questions and provide guidance at no cost.

The event is free and open to qualifying residents seeking legal assistance.
