Ms Ellison believes in personalized instruction and wants to challenge her students to rise to be their best daily.  She uses break out boxes, STEM activities and even job interviews to show students that learning can occur via many different avenues.  Parents and staff follow her on Twitter as she tweets out many of these best practices.

She recently received a grant to purchase listening devices for students to comprehend podcasts while walking around campus.

Kimberly is the PTA teacher liaison and also the leader of the Green Kids Club.  She created a campus garden that is used to teach plant cycles.  Ms Ellison mentors new teachers and serves to inspire the students and staff at Powhatan Elementary.
