Clayton – Alice Hughes Hill, 83, passed away suddenly Sunday June, 26, 2022. A native of Johnston Co, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Beatrice Seate Hughes. Alice worked for Wells-Fargo as a Mortgage Specialist. She was a loving, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was known to all as Granny.
Along with her parents Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Freida Mathis; sons, Phillip Fred Winters, Jr. and Nathaniel Zane Winters; grandson, Kenneth Wade Stell, Jr.; and sister, Louise Tysor.
Surviving are her husband Julius Wayne Hill; son, Paul Winters; daughters, Phyllis Coats and Susan Winters; step-daughter, Bonnie Rodriguez, sister, Paula Hively; sister-in-law, Judy Smith and aunt, Jean Barbour.
