Benson, NC: Mrs. Betty Surles Parrish, age 86, of Tarheel Road passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Friday- January 27, 2023 at the Rose and Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Dr. Ron Byrd and Rev. Scott Johnson. Burial will follow in the Dixon Family Cemetery, Benson.
Mrs. Parrish was born June 15, 1936 in Johnston County to the late Durwood Belmont and Anna Lee Surles. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Daniel Parrish; brother, Raeford Surles. Mrs. Parrish retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles as a title clerk. She was a dedicated member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Benson. Mrs. Parrish enjoyed traveling, walking at the Benson Parks and Recreation and eating at Cracker Barrel.
Surviving includes her daughters, Bonita Adams of Benson, Vonda Hall and husband, Mark of Benson; grandchildren, Jordan Adams and fiancé, Jasmine, Casey Hall and husband, Jason, Tyler Hall and wife, D`Ana; great-grandchildren, Allison Barbour, Landon Hall, Rylan Adams, Luke Barbour, Austin Barbour, Reagan Hall, Oaklee Hall, and Nolan Hall; sister-in-law, Doris Surles of Benson; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:45PM – 1:45PM Friday, January 27, 2023, at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Christian Church General Fund or Shoe Box Ministry, 929 Pleasant Hill Church Road, Benson, NC 27504.
