Chris Aaron Whitesock

Christopher Aaron Whitesock, 48, of Cary passed away on July 24, 2025. It is with heavy hearts that his family announces the sudden passing of Chris who left them far too soon. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, Marine and friend, he touched the lives of all who knew him with his warmth, strength, and unshakable spirit.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Chris grew up surrounded by love and a wide range of passions that shaped his character. From skateboarding and competitive bowling to drumming in the high school marching band, he pursued each interest with wholehearted enthusiasm and joy.

Following graduation, Chris proudly enlisted in the United State Marine Corps. There, he not only demonstrated unwavering dedication, discipline, and resilience, but also formed bonds that became a cherished brotherhood—connections rooted in shared purpose and trust. It was this camaraderie and experience in the Marine Corp that shaped his character, propelled his subsequent career in the IT world, and inspired a lifelong respect for the values of service.

After his military service, he spent decades in the IT industry, where he developed his expertise in information security and cultivated a keen interest in cryptocurrency. His natural curiosity and drive led him to mentor many newcomers to the field, sharing both knowledge and friendship. He was especially proud to be names as an inventor of 11 patents related to cybersecurity—proof of his creativity and impact on the industry.

Chris found peace and adventure in the outdoors; hiking under open skies, cycling on the greenways; or behind a drum set, where rhythm become a part of who he was. He loved traveling, delicious food and spending time with his family. An avid gamer, he enjoyed evenings of Rocket League and Xbox with loved one and often relaxed with his favorite podcasts. There weren’t just hobbies, they were reflections of his vibrant spirit and endless curiosity.

Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband whose presence was a source of warmth, laughter, and grounding. As a father to Destiny, Sebastian, William and Addison he filled their lives with unwavering pride and encouragement. Whether at a sporting event, music recital, or in a shared quiet moment at home, he championed them wholeheartedly, and gently, inspiring each of them toward their best selves. His devotion to family was a foundation of his life; a legacy built on love, strength and shared joy.

He is deeply mourned by his beloved wife, Erica Whitesock; cherished children, Destiny, Sebastian, William and Addison; parents, Vickie and Gary Whitesock; sister, Donneita Fullmer; niece, Ariel Nixten-Stillman; aunt, Cheryl Homier and cousins Mariah and Ryan; numerous friends whose lives were brightened by his presence, humor and generous spirit.

An informal celebration of life is scheduled for August 22, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rally Point Sport Grill, 837 Bass Pro Lane, Cary, NC 27513, where friends and family are warmly invited to gather, reminisce and share stories of his vibrant spirit and joy for life.

A formal visitation will be held on August 22, 2025 beginning ay 10:30 am, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel, located at 105 E. 1 st St., Princeton, NC 27569. Immediately thereafter, a graveside service will take place at 2:00 pm at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
