Eileen Marie Stanton, age 80, passed away at her home on Saturday June 4, 2022. She was born May 8, 1942 in Washington D.C. to the late Albert W. Clayton and Nona B. Clayton. In addition to her mother and father, she is also preceded in death by her sister Teri Miller.
Eileen lived a fulfilling life as an amazing wife, loving mother to 3 children, beloved grandmother to 5, and a friend to many. Throughout her life she enjoyed swimming, softball, horseback riding, poetry, books, crossword puzzles, square dancing, drawing, and of course cats- she could never resist a cute kitty. While she had many work experiences over the years, she most enjoyed her volunteer work, including her time as the pool director at Old Mill Pool in Millersville, Maryland.
She is survived by her husband Richard J. Stanton; daughter, Robin R. Simms and her husband Scott Simms; sons, Dan Stanton and wife Trish Stanton, Tom Stanton and wife Gian Marshall; grandchildren, Eric T. Simms, Dallas G. Simms, Cody A. Simms, Lexi B. Stanton, and Tyler J. Stanton; sister, Norita Callahan.
There was never a dull moment with her quick wit and silly sense of humor. Eileen loved to love on people and her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of every one she met.
The family would like to invited friends for a visitation service on June 24, 2022 from 6 PM – 8 PM at Parrish Funeral Home 1351 South Pollock St. Selma, NC 27576.
