    Hendersonville, NC: Mrs. Emmy Lou McLamb Royal, age 88, completed her earthly journey on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at her son’s home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate.

    Mrs. Royal was born on January 21, 1934 in Johnston County to the late Walter Franklin and Victoria Barbour McLamb. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Royal, son, Ted Royal, daughter, Vicky Royal, brothers, Walter Ransom McLamb, Warren G. McLamb, Derry B. McLamb, J.E. McLamb, and Stacy Denning McLamb, and sisters, Edna Hickman, and Hilda Raynor.

    Mrs. Royal retired as a unit secretary in the rehab department at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville, NC. She loved working with many crafts and shared her handiwork with family and friends. She also loved tending her flowers and gardening. Most of all, she treasured her family and always looked forward to opportunities to spend time with them, hosting many family reunions at her house.

    Survivors include her son, Randy Royal and wife, Robin of Hendersonville, NC; daughter-in-law, Amy Royal of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Shannon Royal Pruitt and husband, Brentley, Ryan Royal and his wife, Kelly, Natalie Royal Herb and husband, Bobby, and Michael Royal; great grandchildren, Adalyn Royal, Lila Royal, Emerson Pruitt, and Amby Herb; sisters, Gertrude M. King of Four Oaks, NC, and Margie Garland of Raleigh, NC; as well as many special nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 am- 10:45 am, Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
