Princeton – Estelle Pennell Pearce, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday June 17, 2023 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on June 15, 1932 to the late Norman Edgar Pennell and Martha Anderson Pennell. In addition to her mother and father, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Luther Pearce; sons, Linwood and Gerald Pearce; daughter, Brenda Pearce Kelly; granddaughter, Elizabeth Holmes; brothers, Troy, Floyd and Berlon Pennell; sisters, Valley Jones, Flora Stewart (Sister).
The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Wednesday June 21, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home Wednesday night.
Estelle is survived by her son, Mack Pearce and wife Paula of Princeton; daughters, Sandra Croft and husband Ben of Smithfield, Linda Snead and husband Billy of Princeton; sisters, Alberta Little of Claremont, Naomi Woodard of Roanoke Rapids, Christine Bartlett of Goldsboro, Geraldine Strickland of Kenly; 16 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Estelle loved reading the Bible, fishing, watching the race, T.V. gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Johnston Health Foundation PO Box 1376 Smithfield, NC 27577 Attn: Hospice Fund.
The family will receive visitors at other times at the home of Linda Snead in Princeton.
