Benson, NC: Mr. George Coleman “G.C.” Young, age 81, died Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Benson, NC. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Rev. Randy Beasley will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.
Mr. Young was born on December 29, 1940 in Johnston County, NC to the late James Coleman and Lula McLamb Young. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty McLamb Young. Mr. Young worked with Smithfield Wholesale Building Supply in Selma, NC for over 25 years, and also worked with Fred Whitaker Company in Raleigh, NC until he retired.
Survivors include his daughter, Tracy Y. Beasley and special friend, Robert Harper; sons and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lisa Young, and Scott Young; grandchildren, Ashley Young, William Beasley and wife, Shannon, Coleman Beasley, Nathan Young, Kassidy Young and Kody Young; great-grandchildren, Alesa Beasley and Jackson Beasley; sister, Willadean Capps; and special niece, Kathy Capps Jones; many other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC, and other times at the home.
