Pine Level – Jackie Lynn Lane, age 65, passed away at his home in Pine Level on Sunday April 24, 2022. He was born in Johnston County on October 16, 1956 to the late Oscar Clyde Lane Sr. and Doris Massengill Lane. In addition to his mother and father, he is also preceded in death by brothers, Noah and Jay Lane; sisters, Joan Storey and Jan Barwick; 7 half siblings.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Wednesday April 27, 2022 at 11:00 am. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service in Yelverton Grove Church cemetery.
Mr. Lane is survived by brothers, Oscar Lane Jr. and wife Shirley, Johnny Lane and wife Lois and James “Tom” Lane; sisters, Janice Powell and husband Donnie Sr., Patricia Greene; many nieces and nephews.
In the early years of his adult life he did weight lifting and body building. In his later years he enjoyed both of his fur babies, Abby Normal and Smokey.
Mr. Lane served sometime in the United States Air Force and worked in manufacturing as a supervisor at Airflow Manufacturing. He also worked at Manheim Auction for some time. He enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes and putt putt. He was a sponsor for AA and even started his own AA group at one point.
