Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Joe Mack Barbour, age 91, of Black Creek Road passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Memorial Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Chaplain Diane Cox.
Mr. Barbour was born on February 2, 1932 in Johnston County to the late William Arthur and Bettie Strickland Barbour. Mr. Barbour was preceded in death by his son, Joe Mack “Joey” Barbour, Jr.; sisters and brothers, Mabel Wood, Lois Olive, Eunice Langdon, Agnes Wood, Margarite Massengill, Fred Barbour, and Hugh Arthur Barbour.
Mr. Barbour was US Air Force Veteran. He was a farmer and a Master Gardener. Mr. Barbour was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Laura Sanders Barbour; daughter, April Barbour-Capps and husband, Eric of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Joey Matthews and Maegan Matthews; father of his grandchildren, Casey Matthews of Four Oaks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
