Newton Grove, NC: Mrs. Josephine Lee McLamb, age 84, of Barefoot Road died Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM- Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Hood’s Grove Baptist Church, Newton Grove. Officiating will be Rev. Bill West and Mr. Ronald Hudson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. McLamb was born May 12, 1938 in Johnston County to the late Alton and Lena Ellis Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior McLamb; son-in-law, Billy Sullivan; sister and brother, Louise Clifton and Rev. Henry Lee.
Mrs. McLamb worked for the shirt factory in Benson and retired after 20 years of service as a CNA with Smithfield Manor. She was a member of Hood’s Grove Baptist Church and loved all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Betty Jo Hudson and husband, Phil of Newton Grove, Buck McLamb and wife, Tammy of Benson, Faye Sullivan and friend, Chris Takoch of Selma; grandchildren, Scott Hudson and wife, Karlie, Eric Hudson and wife, Allison, Ashley McLamb and wife, Anna, Morgan Haynes and husband, Levi, Hunter Sullivan and wife, Brooke, and Cody Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Andrew McLamb, Lanie McLamb, Grady Hudson, Cheyenne Hudson, Nathan Haynes, and Baby Sullivan due in April; sisters and brother, Shelby Best of Clinton, Agnes Williams of Newton Grove, Maxine Lee of Clinton, Lena Mae Warren of Newton Grove, Diane Keene and husband, Layton of Garner, Darlene Jernigan of Benson, and A. W. Lee of Four Oaks; numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends following the funeral service and other times at the home.
