Leonard “Jimmy” Lee Turnage, Jr.

    Leonard (Jimmy) Lee Turnage, Jr., 82, of Kenly, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by his family. Jimmy was born in Wayne County on March 13, 1939 to the late Leonard Lee Turnage and Emma Pauline Price Turnage.

    In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Patricia Capps Turnage; brother, Wayne Turnage; sisters, Edna Best, Helen Harper, and Betty Lou Stone.

    Jimmy is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Turnage of Goldsboro and Tony Turnage of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Patricia T. Lucas and husband Mike of Macclesfield; grandchildren, Kelly Raynor and husband Deral, Kelly N. Hill and husband Jeramy, Jeffrey Turnage, Jr. and wife Ashley, Tony Renee Turnage, Brandon Turnage, Fallon Turnage, Nash Lucas and wife Hailey; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Bissette of Goldsboro and several other family and friends.

    He will be dearly missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

    A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel with Reverend Jerry Andrews and Reverend Brian Wible officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 PM – 1:00PM at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations in Princeton. A private burial will be held in the Princeton Cemetery.
