Wendell – Linda Sue Hales, age 75, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, in UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on October 1, 1947, to the late Joseph and Bessie Forehand Bass. In addition to her mother and father, she is also preceded in death by sisters, Edna Evans, Esther Bass, Betty Jo Tyndall; brothers, JC Bass, Raymond Bass and Charlie “Hobie” Bass.
Linda was a loving mother and mema to her kids and grandkids whom she loved the most. They were her hobby, she loved spending time with them and caring for them. Linda also loved her dog Delilah Rose. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with the burial to follow in Price Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
She is survived by her son, David C. Hales of Smithfield; daughter, Gloria Mills Woodall and daughter by choice, Ginger Hales of Smithfield; grandchildren, Danny Lassiter (wife Monica), Summer Zaczek (husband John), Savannah Keen, Sara Zaczek, Joey Andes, Erica Rosemire; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Rigby and wife Kym, Ashlyn Lassiter, Daniel Lassiter and Atlas Rosemire also, great-great-granddaughter, Luna Rigby.
