    Cary, NC: Mrs. Margaret Lucille Blackwelder Cooke, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats, NC. Pastors Tim Howell and Tommy Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery in Coats, NC.

    Lucille was born on July 28, 1935 in Harnett County, NC to the late Richard and Nuna Williams Blackwelder. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny and David Blackwelder and a grandson, Aaron Smith. Lucille was a strong Christian woman. She served in many roles in her church which was Athens Drive Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. Lucille helped with the Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief, served the Raleigh Baptist Association, and volunteered with hospice in various times of her life. She loved God’s Word, her family, music, birds, and the beach. Lucille was full of faith and lived her faith daily. Her faith was so strong you could feel it radiating from her.

    Surviving include her husband of 67 years, Rayvon Cooke, daughters, Donna C. Smith and husband, Tommy of Siler City, NC, and Bonnie C. Dukeman and husband, Bill of Pittsboro, NC; grandchildren, Faith, Blake, Michael, Jennifer, and Bailey; great-grandchildren, Christian, Buddy, Lily, Logan and Johnny; many nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends from 12:45PM- 1:45PM, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Coats, NC and other times at the home in Cary, NC.
