Benson, NC: Mrs. Martha S. Byrd, age 79, of 2842 Benson-Hardee Road died Monday, February 7, 2022 at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Shaun Barbour. Burial will follow in Hodges Chapel PFWB Church Cemetery, Benson.
Mrs. Byrd was born on July 15, 1942 in Ft. Meade, Florida to the late Ernest Wade, Sr. and Vivian Irene Cail Stanford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roger Green “R.G.” Byrd, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Hannah Willis; brothers and sisters, Ernest Wade Stanford, Jr., Mary Irene Stanford, John Lindsey Stanford, Esther Ruth Long. Mrs. Byrd was a homemaker.
Surviving include her children: Debbie B. Finklestein (Johnny), and Kathy B. Willis (Danny) of Benson, Roger W. Byrd (Julie) of North Ft. Myers, FL, and Tammy B. Dorman (Dale) of Dunn; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Ann Stanford of Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson prior to the service and other times at the home of Danny and Kathy Willis, 2842 Benson-Hardee Road Benson, NC 27504.
