Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Ned Everette Summerlin, age 69, of Harper House Road passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by his loving family. Graveside Services will be held 3:00PM – Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Mill Creek Christian Church Cemetery, Bentonville. Officiating will be Rev. Jessica Braxton.
Mr. Summerlin was born on May 22, 1953 in Wayne County, NC to Hilda Marie Williams Summerlin of Newton Grove and the late, Everette Louis “Jim” Summerlin. Mr. Summerlin was a farmer, US Marine veteran and retired as a Captain from the Johnston County Sherriff’s Office.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his daughters, Deanna S. Batten and husband, Preston of Four Oaks, Nedda Summerlin of Princeton, Laura S. Jones and husband, Michael of Kenly; grandchildren, Kelly Batten, Kayla Batten, and Amelia Rose Blake; sisters and brothers, Jackie Summerlin of Four Oaks, Ann Summerlin of Newton Grove, Randy Summerlin and wife, Teresa of Sneads Ferry, Billy Summerlin and wife, Dana of Rosewood; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:30PM to 2:45PM Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in the Mill Creek Christian Church sanctuary prior to the graveside service.
