Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Phyllis Strickland Mayenschein, age 73, of E. Sanders Street, passed away on June 7, 2022 at The Carrolton of Dunn surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Service will be held-11:00AM Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Pastor Eddie White. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Mayenschein was born on December 6, 1948 in Johnston County to the late Robert W. and Ruby Allen Strickland. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Erich “Sunny” Mayenschein and brothers, Billy W. Strickland and David “Timmy” Strickland. Mrs. Mayenschein retired from Stevens Sausage in Smithfield and was also a homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Surviving includes her daughter, Cynthia Mayenschein; son, Joseph Mayenschein and wife, Laurie; grandchildren, Christina Lee, Brianna Mayenschein, and Nathan Mayenschein; great grandchildren, Sophie Lee, Stella Lee, and Cash Lee; sisters, Gail S. Strickland and Donna Morris; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
