Sisouphanh (Pon) Phommachieng, age 58, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, July 11, 2023, at WakeMed hospital in Raleigh, NC.
He was born on August 1, 1964, in Vientiane, Laos, to Bang Phommachieng and Nhot Vongxay. Sisouphanh came to the United States fleeing the Vietcong at the age of 15. Upon his arrival in the U.S. he stayed with his Aunt Saykham and Uncle Kongsyvisai Souvanthong. He married his wife, Jennifer Phommachieng, on September 15, 1990. They lived in upstate New York and raised three beautiful daughters until 2012 when they moved to Clayton, North Carolina. They would have been married for 33 years.
Surviving Sisouphanh are his wife, daughters, Ashley Holloman and her husband Dustin Holloman of Smithfield, NC, Lyndsie Phommachieng and her fiancé Allon Ramlawi, and Summer Phommachieng of Raleigh, NC, sisters Manivanh Vongxay in Laos, Phonesavanh Khamphanthirath in New York, Vanhsavang Philavanh in Laos, brothers Thierry Phommachieng in France and Morakot Vongxay in Laos as well as his grandchildren Abigail and August.
There will be a celebration of life on July 28, at 4pm. The family will notify friends and family with the location.
