Lucama- Sylvia Mae Ethridge, 88, passed away at home Wednesday June 22, 2022. A native of Johnston, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mabel Wright. Sylvia worked in the medical field as a nurse. There will be a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM Saturday June 25, 2022 at Parrish Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Selma Memorial Gardens.
Along with her parents Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt, a daughter, Jenny Runnette, sister Dorothy McMillion and brother, Samuel Wright, Jr.
We have come to worship homegoing services for Sylvia Mae Wright Ethridge. Born May 20, 1934 to Samuel Cecil Wright and Mabel Wiggins Wright. Sylvia married Roosevelt Ethridge, Sr. in Asbury, NJ. They had seven children, a son, Roosevelt Jr. and six daughters, Regina Blacksher, Gloria Ethridge, Annette Ethridge and Runnette Ethridge, Robin Ethridge Johnson and husband Ronald, Danielle Ward, 21 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister, Jeanette Garner; 2-brothers, Roy Harris and Rev. Albert Harris; 3- sisters-in-law, 1-brother-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 10- 11 AM.
