Selma – Wade Norman Griffin Sr., age 82, passed away Friday January 27, 2023 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. He was born in Patrick County, VA to the late Claude V. Griffin and Leauna Culler Griffin. In addition to his mother and father, he is also preceded in death by a grandson, Peyton Griffin (Bubba).
The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Monday January 30, 2023 from 7 PM to 9 PM. A graveside service will take place in Selma Memorial Gardens on Tuesday January 31, 2023 at 11 AM.
Mr. Griffin is survived by wife of 27 years, Sharon Cox Griffin of Selma; Sons, Wade Griffin Jr. and wife Adrine, Scott Griffin; daughters, Kimberly Griffin Parrish and husband Frank, Shannon Parrish; grandchildren, Joshua, Isiah, Jeremiah, Justin Griffin and wife Ashley, Tate Parrish, Scott Griffin Jr.(Griff), Nicholas Parrish; great grandchildren, Bryson, Coltin, Cater and Bella.
Mr. Griffin was a graduate of Flat Rock High in Mt. Airy NC and retired from Driller Service Inc. He was a member of Selma Baptist Church and loved watching Carolina basketball, trout fishing, traveling, collecting everything, making everyone smile with his jokes, and going to his grandchildren’s sporting events. He especially loved his family and the Lord.
Flowers are acceptable as well as donations to Selma Baptist and Smithfield Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Griffin lived a blessed, healthy and full life.
