    Benson, NC: Mr. William Kenneth Morgan, age 77, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, October 3, 2022 at Stones Creek Advent Christian Church, 343 Wood’s Crossroads Road, Benson, NC 27504. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate.

    Mr. Morgan was born on October 1, 1944 to the late William Newit and Lucy Jane Dunn Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Sammy Dale Morgan and Danny Ray Morgan, and a sister, Sylvia Jane Morgan.

    Mr. Morgan started his working career as a farmer, and then worked with Montgomery Green in Raleigh, NC. In January of 1969, he joined the North Carolina Highway Patrol, as a Patrolman, and was assigned to Candor, NC in Montgomery County. He was known as W.K. or Blue Light to many folks. He was a member of the Candor Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. He was also a member of the Candor Lions Club where he served in many capacities, and was a Mason. In 1996, he and his wife, Joyce relocated back to Johnston County, NC, to care for his father, Newit. He continued as a Trooper in Johnston County until his retirement in 1997. Mr. Morgan loved to hunt, fish, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a member of Stones Creek Advent Christian Church, Benson, NC.

    Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joyce Ivey Morgan, son, Kenneth Allen Morgan and wife, Edie; daughter, Pamela Morgan Summers, and husband, Sean; grandchildren, Timothy Morgan, Jeremy Morgan, Rebekah Marquez, Karven Morgan, Jacob Summers, and Paige Summers; great-grandchildren, Roland Marquez, and Ramona Marquez; brother, Mike Morgan and fiancée, Charlotte; several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home, 301 W. Main Street Benson, NC 27504 and other times at the home.

    Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Stones Creek Advent Christian Church Building Fund, C/O Phyllis Barefoot 64 Wood’s Crossroads Road, Benson, NC 27504.
