Joan Corbett Peacock, 77, passed away Friday morning July 20, 2018.
Joan was born in Johnston County on July 4, 1941 to the late Percy Glenn and Louise Corbett Peacock. Joan taught her family about kindness and patience, because it took a lot of love, patience and dedication to care for her needs day after day. To nurture someone so completely, and to do it for so long, takes a dedication and depth of love that is hard to comprehend for those who haven’t done it. It is truly loving without condition, and it is perhaps the most beautiful and pure example of love that exists. She made that kind of love exist. She made it possible. Joan will truly be missed by all of her family and friends at her group home.
A service to celebrate Joans’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 by the graveside at the Kenly Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Joan is survived by her sister, Pat Harrell of Florida, June Narron of Micro, and Glenda Flemer of Kenly; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she all loved very dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Wanda Peacock Durham, and Jewel Peacock.
