Smithfield- Robert Britt Davis, age 73, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. He was born December 17, 1946, a son of the late Bill and Frances Davis in Randolph County. He is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Davis.
Robert spent his career in law enforcement as a highway patrolman and later a judicial magistrate. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Smithfield. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge, Lee #258 in Taylorsville, NC. Robert greatly enjoyed sports of all kinds and served as an official for many years. He was an avid reader, painter and History buff. He was also known for his very dry sense of humor.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Mrs. Carolyn Davis, sons, Brian Davis (wife Jill) of Wendell, Cullen Davis of Smithfield, and Will Davis (wife Traci) of Augusta, GA, grandchildren, Aaron Davis, Ben Davis, Britt Davis, Charlie Davis, and Braden Davis, nephew Shaun Bradshaw.
