Overnight Closures Planned for I-40 Ramp In Wake County

RALEIGH – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to temporarily close the westbound Interstate 40 Exit 293A loop ramp on Thursday and Friday nights for bridge inspection.

The ramp from I-40 West to U.S.1 South/U.S. 64 West toward Cary and Apex will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, weather permitting.

Traffic will be detoured to take Exit 291 for Cary Towne Boulevard and then I-40 East back to the U.S. 1/64 exit.

Drivers should allow extra travel time and be mindful of crews working in this area.
