FOUR OAKS – Emergency crews responded to a two vehicle accident shortly before 9:00am today (Monday). The accident was reported on Hockaday Road near Interstate 95.
A pickup traveling northbound and a pickup truck traveling southbound sideswiped in a sharp curve. The impact forced the northbound pickup off the roadway, where it collided with a small tree and overturned. Both drivers escaped without injury.
A Good Samaritan, who happened upon the accident, sustained a laceration to their finger from broken glass while aiding the driver of the overturned truck. The Good Samaritan was treated at the scene and released.
The State Highway Patrol investigated the accident. Four Oaks Fire and Johnston Conty EMS also responded.
