SJ Harris, a senior at Charles B. Aycock High School, signed his letter of intent Tuesday to play baseball for Belmont Abbey College.
As a sophomore SJ posted a .375 average, .547 on base percentage, 25 runs, 10 runs batted in, and 17 stolen bases. His junior year was canceled due to COVID-19.
SJ said, “The recruitment process has been a whirlwind time due to COVID.” He thanked his parents, teammates and coaches for their help during his baseball career at Charles B. Aycock High.
SJ also thanked Belmont Abbey and their coaching staff for the opportunity they have offered. SJ chose Belmont Abbey because of how the coaches and players treated him during a camp he attended. He was also very impressed with their baseball facilities and campus.
Located in Belmont, NC (Gaston County), Belmont Abbey College is a Division II school that plays in the Conference Carolina league. SJ will major in Business.
He is the son of Shawn and Michelle Harris of Pikeville, NC.
