All October Special Stops By Train On Track

RALEIGH – NC By Train schedules will be adjusted in October for the N.C. State Fair, Lexington Barbecue Festival and a Carolina Panthers home game.

This year, NC By Train will make more stops to get riders to the N.C. State Fair, which runs Oct. 15 – 25. On Oct. 15, NC By Train will make three stops at the fairgrounds in Raleigh for opening day. Piedmont Train 72 will arrive at the fairgrounds at 1:47 p.m. and Piedmont Train 77 will arrive at 3:43 p.m. Carolinian Train 79 will return to pick passengers up at 7:30 p.m.

From Oct. 16 to 25, there will be five stops at the fairgrounds at approximately 10:06 a.m. and 1:47 p.m. eastbound, 1:03 p.m., 3:43 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. westbound. Make sure to select “NSF” as your station when booking tickets to and from the N.C. State Fair.

State Fair arrival and departure times will vary slightly Oct. 24 and 25 due to other events around the state.

The 42nd Annual Lexington Barbecue Festival is Oct. 24. NC By Train will make eight stops at the Lexington Hospitality Center, located at 29 North Railroad St., one block from the festival. There will be three trains arriving at the festival before noon, and five trains arriving after 12 p.m. with the last train departing at 6:10 p.m. Use station code “LEX” to reserve your train tickets for the Lexington Barbeque Festival.

On Oct. 25, there will be two opportunities to arrive in Charlotte prior to the start of the 1 p.m. Panthers game. Piedmont Train 73 will depart Raleigh Union Station at an earlier time of 8:40 a.m. to arrive in Charlotte at 11:55 a.m. Piedmont Train 76 will also depart Charlotte later that day at 5:30 p.m. for fans to travel home.

Service times vary by date to accommodate all events, so passengers should select their travel date and destination at NCByTrain.org to view the correct schedule before booking.
