Carl Lamm Honored By County Commissioners

Johnston County Commissioners honored long time radio broadcaster Carl Lamm this month. Carl, known as America’s longest continuous radio broadcaster, officially signed off the air in March ending a 72 year career behind the microphone.

Commissioners presented Carl with a resolution honoring him for his service to Johnston County and for dedicating his life and career to serving his community and making Johnston County a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

Lamm is a member of the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame and was named NC Sports Broadcaster of the Year.  He received the Johnston County Living Legend Award and the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the state’s highest civilian honor.

Lamm told Commissioners and those in the audience that he gave all the credit to his long career and success to his Lord and Savior.  He was joined by several members of his family for the April 1st presentation. JoCoReport.com Photo
