Convicted Methamphetamine Manufacturer Rearrested On Drug Trafficking Charges

BENSON – A Johnston County man with a lengthy history of arrests is once again behind bars.

Bradford Christian Calcote, of Byrdtown Road, Benson, was arrested July 18 during a search of his residence by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and NC Probation & Parole.

During the search, 34 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3 grams of cocaine, 0.1 gram of fentanyl, 1.2 pounds of marijuana, 9 Adderall pills, two jars of moonshine, and a large quantity of ammunition were seized.

In 2010, Calcote was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for cooking methamphetamine. Calcote also sold methamphetamine to an undercover officer in June 2008 during a controlled buy. Materials used in the production of meth were seized during a search warrant at his residence the following day.

Calcote was convicted on March 6, 2025, of fleeing to elude arrest from the State Highway Patrol during a chase on February 23, 2024, on Highway 50 near Benson. He was sentenced to probation. As part of his probation, he was ordered to undergo random drug tests. On June 11, 2025, Calcote provided a urine sample that later lab tested positive for methamphetamine.

The 51-year-old man was held July 18 under a $250,000 secured bond. His latest charges include trafficking methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and felony probation violation.

  1. “A Johnston County man with a lengthy history of arrests is once again behind bars.”

Can we please sentence him to more than freaking probation? 30 years Federal time should be sufficient to keep him out of civilized society.

    • his 16 year old daughter is seeing this, hope you feel good about the fact he has a daughter & he could miss out on the rest of her childhood

      • I’m ok with it. He gave up that right when he repeatedly chose to endanger society but peddling drugs that other 16 year olds are going to OD on. Give me a break.

        • He was not peddling anything. If you have over a certain amount, they automatically charge you with trafficking or pwisd. Having scales to weigh your own stuff on and a large quantity makes you a kingpin trafficker in Joco. You think you know everything else, you should know that too. He would never harm a child or anyone. Now please go take your break for good.

          • On what planet are controlled purchases not peddling? He only selling to the FBI/undercover officers?

          • 34 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3 grams of cocaine, 0.1 gram of fentanyl, 1.2 pounds of marijuana, 9 Adderall pills, two jars of moonshine, and a large quantity of ammunition is “personal”: use??? Are you seriously ******** or do you just think we are?

          • Oh good grief Charlie Brown, did you,see the headline? The article ?he was out while pending trial for COOKING METH, he took a drug test randomly and METH was found in his urine. All those controlled substances weren’t all for his personal use hun. He’s a pusher, peddler, dealer of destruction. Him having a daughter should have guided his decisions. It’s not our censor what we say because the child of a drug dealer that got arrested may see what’s being said 🤷🏽‍♀️also

      • His daughter has my condolences she does not deserve this. This was a choice HE made no one else to blame.

        • thank you for the condolences, it just hurts to see whats going on, especially the fact i went to visit & spend the night there & while i was there was when they came amd searched the place. i saw my own dad in handcuffs crying & it was worse than videos i had seen of other people. it really has left me hurt & shaken by everything. i want him to get help because i seen all this play out before. my mom is a recovered addict & i want him to get the same help she did. he never got help for that. he was just thrown in prison

          • You are in my prayers. I hope he does get help.. Remember he has to want it you can not force him. At this point He will have to make a decision to change his life. You sound like a strong person that has been dealt a bad hand. Hang in there stay strong and believe in yourself, because this too shall pass.

          • Your concern is genuine and heartbreaking to say the least. I hope he gets help as well. However, .1 grams of fentanyl alone is enough for at LEAST 10 people your age to OD on. Having a parent is prison is nothing compared to burying a child. I’m sorry you were traumatized and I hope your mother stays on the right path too. You are blessed

      • What does that even mean? Some random person on the internet is supposed to care about his daughter’s childhood, an unknown fact to any reader of this article, when “DAD” couldn’t be bothered with it?

He gave up what he was willing to lose based on his actions. In case you need it spelled out for you…it’s time he will never get back with his daughter. He did this. Not random internet person Jessica.

Many civilized people are aware of the consequences associated with unlawful behavior and would never jeopardize being separated from them. Civilized people also believe that dealing drugs affects more than just the person that gets locked up when they’re finally caught. Their enterprise devours families and communities, and not just your/his family.

Maybe your disappointment should be redirected closer to home. You chose this person to make a baby with “Savannah.” An important word to learn for today is accountability.

        • Life must be full of bliss? Maybe stop commenting because you’re only making your self look so ignorant. Take up painting or drawing rather than commenting. Your not even trying to understand the realities of addiction your just a Karen that has it all figured out. Your logic reins supreme. You’re completely blind to the reality of what agony and pain addicts go through. If it was only a choice. Yup a choice, right?

          • Ok so as a recovering addict I can with all certainty say that it absolutely is a choice. If one keeps doing the same thing they’ll keep getting the same results. It’s not as complicated as it may seem while in active addiction. Sobriety has to be more important than any urges, there are many steps between urge and use. Those steps include decisions all along the way SO yes, it BEGINS with a decision and it does end with a decision.

      • Apparently he doesn’t care about his daughter either…so what’s your point?

      • That’s nobody’s fault but his. For the sake of public safety.. he should be given an appropriate punishment

    • That’s the problem Jessica. Our court system sucks. He should not be out in the first place.

      • He won’t be getting out anytime soon. He made his bed, let him lay in it. Time for the girlfriends to move on to the next one.

        NEXT

  2. His daughter doesn’t need to be around this. Better to see him in prison than to be around all these drugs etc.

    • Which one of the girlfriends are you? He’s known to have 2 Anna’s, and both of them know he’s not innocent.

        • This is comical! Some of us know the real truth! Can’t stay undercover, and lie and cheat and claim to be the good one! This has been going on for years, not with just this guy, nothing new.

    • Hahaha you think this is funny sitting behind a keyboard putting a name to make it look like it could be me, like I would say some s*** like that. Grow up and grow some. You are a real lowlife. This is not the time or place. Same for you too, BESOFOREAL. Yall must be real bored. People have no decency about themselves, and people meaning yall, worry about yourself and if you know so much the fact you would be up here posting shows your true colors. I will pray for you.

      • Baby girl to be sure you have more pressing matters to tend to than responding to comments on an article about a drug dealer who was arrested while out on bond for cooking meth. Like, if this situation is close to your life I can only imagine that you would need to be doing much more than this. I hope that you get better and that this guy stays inside because what he does is detrimental to communities. Sure there will be drug users forever but you don’t have to be the one to exploit their addictions by supplying OR benefiting from the exploitation of addicts by way of manufacturing designer drugs to sell out into the streets. Do better I beg.

        • @hicks To be sure you have more pressing matters than to be up here putting your two cents in with four different comment reply’s, like who are you? You are reading a news article, it’s not always facts. This man was not out on bond for manufacturing. Also those charges were 17 years ago Mam. My life doesn’t consist of any of this nonsense, nor do I condone it. So to be sure you would want to make sure you know what you are talking about before you get up here and sound ridiculous waisting your time commenting when you don’t know us or what you are talking about. And D*** right I will speak up when someone is playing juvenile games and putting my name with such stupid comments. Good day to you!

  3. look at the baby mama and one of his girlfriends up here defending this guy.

    • Regardless of how it may or may not have been paid , atleast he cared and was paying his child support and not a dead beat like so many of these parents out here. H*ll mine might send $20-$30 a month and I have to ask for it.

  4. I would love to know why a news media outlet is letting a gossip session continue to go on. It’s very unprofessional of WMPM to continue to allow or condone this kind of behavior from grown individuals. And for ones that are judging on here , you need to reevaluate your own behaviors because it is very distasteful regardless of this man’s crimes. I’m sure this will more than likely not get posted because I am not displaying behavior of a child.

    • @Sue
So you support this drug dealer? Did you see his past ? They never learn or get help

    • Ok girl.
That man was in his own space manufacturing drugs ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, so much so that he had been arrested and released on bond yet he finds himself behind bars AGAIN for the same thing. There are many families who will at some point have to deal with the decisions of their family members AND the decisions of this man. There’s no reasonable defense to his actions, if he has children then he should have made decisions that would allow him to be free and able to be with them. Making and selling drugs isn’t it.

  5. Let’s focus on the lives destroyed by the drug sales. I personally hope each person that sells it . Has to eat it.
