  1. Well, that’s predictable because these trucks coming from the quarry drive like they own the road and have no respect for the dangerous vehicle they drive recklessly everyday and it needs to stop, and it looks like one at least was stopped. These truck drivers need to be held accountable – They continuously break the speed limit. They don’t stop at stop signs and they forget to cover their loads as well as not sweeping off their truck after they leave the quarry. I’ve seen them on their cell phone while driving this truck and I’ve also seen them dump their loads on the railroad track and on Raleigh Road
Those of us that live over here while we see it every day. I go through this intersection and frequently These trucks are reckless
the sheriff needs to just sit right there and start observing and writing them some tickets and pull their CDL license. This drivers are gonna kill somebody one day If they’re not slowed down I watched them go by my house so fast there’s no way the truck can not stop if somebody was to pull in front of them. They are not going the speed limit. And they do not keep a safe distance

    • The article doesn’t even say the truck driver was speeding or being reckless. It only says the truck left the roadway and overturned and that the driver had non-life-threatening injuries. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is still investigating what actually caused the crash.

There are a lot of reasons crashes happen; mechanical issues, road conditions, or even another vehicle pulling out in front of them. None of that has been determined yet.

Also, people forget a loaded dump truck can weigh tens of thousands of pounds and needs much more distance to stop than a regular car. When cars cut in front of them or pull out too close, they physically cannot stop as fast as people think.

If someone is speeding or breaking the law, of course they should be held accountable. But blaming the truck driver before the investigation is even finished doesn’t really make sense.
