Fire Destroys Johnston County Home

CLAYTON – A weekend blaze that tore through a Clayton-area home is now under investigation by the Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office.
According to Johnston County Fire Marshal Travis Johnson, the fire broke out Saturday evening at a residence located at 141 Redbud Drive.
Johnston County 911 received the first report of the structure fire at 6:39 p.m. Clayton, Cleveland, and Wilson’s Mills fire departments were immediately dispatched.
The first arriving unit from Clayton Fire Department immediately declared a working fire. With no fire hydrants available in the immediate area, crews requested a tanker task force to haul in additional water.
Johnson said investigators determined the fire started in the area of the garage. The exact cause remains under investigation by the Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office.
No one was at home at the time of the blaze.

There has been 3 home fires in Clayton this week. Is it the same builder ?
Builders take the blame for a lot , but in no way homeowner stupidity .
If you for some reason don’t want to believe homeowners and tenants intentionally disable smoke detectors vs change a battery you may need to take your blinders off. Ask any property manager, fire investigator or insurance claims representative .
