Coats, NC: Mrs. Dovie Davis Beasley, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Oak Hill Assisted Living Center in Angier, NC. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM, Monday, February 26, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats, NC. Rev. Turner Matthews will officiate. Burial will follow in Coats City Cemetery in Coats, NC.
Mrs. Beasley was born on March 20, 1933 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late James Edward Davis and Velma Bigham Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Max Hayes Beasley, sisters, Shelby J. Farmer, and Bobbie F. Turner brother, Thelton Lee, and a special niece, Wanda Penny.
Mrs. Beasley retired from Currin & Dorman in Coats, NC. She was also a homemaker, and member of Coats Baptist Church in Coats, NC where she served in many capacities. Mrs. Beasley loved her family, especially her grandchildren, drinking her coffee, and traveling with her husband. She was lifelong learner, talented musician, and a strong business leader. Mrs. Beasley enjoyed sharing her vegetables from her garden and working in her yards. She loved her small town of Coats, NC, where she volunteered anytime, she was asked. The memories she left us will never be forgotten.
Survivors include her son, Max Duane Beasley; grandchildren, Susan Beasley, and Stephanie Ingraham; six great-grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00PM-2:45PM, Monday, February 26, 2024 prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Coats, NC.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Beasley requested memorials be made to the Coats Museum PO Box 1294, Coats, NC 27521.
