Kenly- Jerry Crumpler, Jr., a life-long resident of Kenly, passed peacefully at his home on Monday, August 26th. He was 80.
He was the son of the late Jerry F. Crumpler and Neppie Godwin Crumpler Jones.
Mr. Crumpler farmed for many years and was well known throughout the agricultural community. He was employed with Ethco Oil. He retired in 2015. He was a member of New Jerusalem Church in Kenly.
Mr. Crumpler was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Gloria Kay Ward Crumpler and son Garry Kent Crumpler.
He is survived by his children, Jerry Crumpler III of Kenly, Holly Gunter and husband Steve of Prattville, Alabama, Heidi Worley and husband Michael of Kenly, JoAnn Langley and husband Donnie of Elm City; sister-in-law Doris Barnes and husband Ellsworth of Kenly; half-brother Kenneth Jones and wife Anna of South Carolina; nine grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Mr. Crumpler will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service. A service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will conclude at Kenly Cemetery.
