CLAYTON – A pedestrian was struck and killed on Highway 70 in Clayton tonight. The 7:50pm accident temporarily shut down eastbound lanes of Highway 70 at Financial Drive not far from the entrance to Walmart.
Clayton Police Chief Blair Myhand said a pedestrian was attempting to cross southbound through the grassy median when they were fatally struck. The driver that hit the pedestrian stopped at the scene.
The name of the victim, a male in his 50’s, has not been released.
Chief Myhand said no charges are expected to be filed.
