Alex Canady a teacher at Powhatan Elementary has been selected by the Clayton Chamber of Commerce as the SUPER STAR Teacher of for the month of May.
SUPER STAR teachers demonstrate excellence and leadership in their classroom, creativity and motivation of their students and show a high level of commitment to our community.
According to the Chamber, Ms. Canady’s personal touch and individualized lesson plans make her classroom special. She connects with each and every student and makes sure they are pushed to excel in the classroom. She teaches with confidence and helps create activities for the entire grade level. Ms Canady serves on the Response To Intervention Team at Powhatan Elementary when means she helps make decisions regarding the curriculum and best practices which are used by all teachers. She is imaginative, creative and makes each day unforgettable for her students.
