“Rededicate 250” Event Planned May 17 To Honor Faith, Freedom And Unity
CLAYTON, N.C. — Residents from across the area are invited to gather in downtown Clayton this weekend for a patriotic community event celebrating America’s upcoming 250th anniversary and honoring the nation’s heritage of faith, freedom and unity.
The event, called “Rededicate 250 – One Nation Under God,” will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Clayton Town Square.

Organizers describe the event as part of a nationwide effort leading up to the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, encouraging communities to reflect on the principles that shaped the nation while recommitting to preserving liberty for future generations.
The family-friendly gathering will include patriotic music, remarks from local leaders and distinguished guests, community prayer led by area pastors, recognition of veterans and first responders, and a public rededication ceremony.
Organizers are encouraging attendees to bring lawn chairs and gather with family and friends for what is expected to be an evening focused on patriotism, reflection and community unity.
“This is more than a celebration of history,” organizers said in a statement. “It is an opportunity for our community to come together and reflect on the blessings of freedom, honor those who have sacrificed for it, and recommit ourselves to the principles that have sustained our nation.”
