Shoplifter Concealed 9 Bottles Of Body Wash In His Pants, Police Say

A shoplifting suspect was arrested after he reportedly left a local grocery store without paying for nine bottles of Dove body wash.  Police were called to the Food Lion on W. Market Street just before 5:00pm Aug. 3rd after 42 year-old John Maurice Henry of Powell Street, Smithfield allegedly left without paying for the merchandise valued at $62.91.

A Smithfield police officer said he found Henry operating a scooter near Food Lion. The officer said Henry had all 9 bottles of body wash concealed inside his pants. The items were recovered.

Because of four previous misdemeanor larceny convictions in Wake and Harnett counties, Henry was charged with felony habitual larceny.  He was given a $10,000 bond.
