Stolen Car Involved In Two County High Speed Chase

DUNN – Three people were taken into custody today (Monday) after law enforcement officers chased a stolen car through two counties.

It began in Harnett County, near I-95 and US Highway 421 in Dunn. A state trooper attempted to stop a BMW for reportedly speeding over 100 miles per hour. The driver refused to pull over.

The chase entered Sampson County and while traveling on Christmas Tree Road in the Plain View community, the fleeing vehicle collided with a ditch. Three people inside the car jumped and ran. All three were apprehended following a foot chase with law enforcement officers.

The BMW had been reported stolen July 10 to the Smithfield Police Department. Police said the car was stolen from the parking lot of an auto repair shop.

The State Highway Patrol and Sampson County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the pursuit and apprehension of the suspects.

  1. Great job State Troopers. I hope the three in the car go away for a long, long time. These POS could have killed someone. What is wrong with people? Is there no respect for human life? Again great job NC State troopers.
